So, you think your little guy might be the next Tiger Woods? If you think your child has a propensity for golf, or if you have a love for the game that you want to share, how can you best teach your youngster the game? How can you tell that they are ready to learn? What age is best to start a child on learning golf if you want to develop a quality player?

Golf, a detailed and complex sport, can be tough to teach to kids. For this reason, get them started early and ensure that you build a firm foundation in their gameplay so that they learn to be confident in the sport and in their own abilities. This type of learned confidence can help them embrace the complexities of the game as a whole and will turn them into golfers that are ready to learn.

Once a child is walking well independently and able to hold a child-sized golf club, he or she is probably ready for the first introduction to the sport. This can happen when the child is as young as two or three years old. Preschool children will not be ready to play golf as a game, but they can be given small putters and practice swinging the club correctly.

There are many causes of procrastination, and it differs from individual to individual. It could be due to the person’s character, or an event that was traumatising on some level. The repetitive act of pushing off doing work over time develops into the habit of procrastination, and it is important to go back and unearth the initial cause that sparked off this bad habit. Below is a list of possible causes of procrastination, and by running though you can possibly identify similar causes in yourself.

1) Poor Time Management

These are individuals who either overestimate their efficiency and capability, or they have a mismanaged sense of how much time they have available to complete tasks.

2) Inability to Prioritise

It is always easier to do the simple and unimportant tasks first, but this problem goes beyond that when the individual is unable to differentiate between what needs to be done first, and what is less important.

3) Negative Mindset

These are people who have low self esteem, or have become unduly affected by people’s comments putting them down. They genuinely believe that they are inferior and incapable of working well.

4) Fear of Failure

This is a very common problem, as nobody likes failing after putting in a lot of effort and work. The fear of failure may be sparked off from a previous failure, causing them to avoid putting in effort and failing again.

5) Lack Challenge

Not all jobs can be exciting and stimulating, and jobs that are repetitive and unchallenging can cause the individual to be demotivated. This results in feelings of restlessness and a general unwillingness to work.

What Makes A Golf Course Good

A question plaguing designers of golf courses all over the world is what makes a good golf course? The answer, simplified greatly, is the lay of the land it is being built on.



A good golf course needs to have rolling hills, preferably a pond or two, or three, or four, or five, trees, an area that can be used as a fairway, an area for a rough, and enough room for sand traps. Of course, the bent grass greens will wind up with more divots than those with bermudagrass as the ground tends to be softer beneath them.



The attitude of the grounds crew and the personnel in the clubhouse has a great deal to do with whether a golf course is good or not. If the people working there have bad attitudes, the golfers will not be able to focus on their game, as they remember how they were mistreated, or thought they were mistreated.
